Day 1: Yangon Arrival (D)
Mingalabar! Welcome to Myanmar! Today, meet your local guide upon arrival at Yangon International Airport, then drive to the hotel in the city center for check-in. The rest of the day will be free for you to recover. This evening, enjoy a welcome dinner in Karaweik Palace – a beguiling landmark overlooking the Royal Lake and Shwedagon Tower. Savor a meal with fine Burmese food served followed by a beautiful cultural show of music and dancing.
Day 2: Yangon City Tour (B)
After breakfast at the hotel, start the day with a visit to the sacred Shwedagon pagoda – the most prominent monument in Yangon. The legend pagoda is completely peaceful in the morning, you will see monks offering to the Buddha. Stroll around the pagoda to observe the morning ambiance then we transfer to the Sule Pagoda. Situated at the heart of the city, the 2500-year-old pagoda is one of the great attractions in Yangon.
Next up, head to Chinese Town, where to enjoy the exotic streets of downtown Yangon and British Colonial buildings such as Emmanuel Church, Inland Water Buildings. From there move to Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda to see the 70-m long reclining Buddha and Myanmar’s holiest monument.
Finally, fulfill your city tour by enjoying some shopping at Scott Market. Soak up the lively trading atmosphere of the market area (Note: the market is closed on Mondays and gazette holiday).
Day 3: Yangon – Bagan Temple Tour (B)
Leave Yangon early this morning to take a domestic flight to Bagan – one of the greatest architectural sites in Asia.
The majesty Bagan with more than 3000 red brick temples on a plain is one of the highlights of a Myanmar holiday that will soothe the eye of every traveler.
Start your day tour with a trip to the bustling Nyaung U Market in Old Bagan where the locals come to trade fresh produce and other goods daily. Spend your time to get a glimspe at the trading activities in Bagan.
After that, visit the beautiful gold leaf Shwezigon Pagoda, constructed by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century as a religious memorial. Your guide then will lead you to Ananda Temple – one of the most exalted of Bagan’s temples.
Passing through the exotic road which is scattered with endless temples and stopping along the way on the Bagan plains to admire some of the surrounding temples.
In the afternoon, we visit a local lacquerware workshop and learn how this traditional piece of art is made and preserved from generation to generation.
Day 4: Bagan Sightseeing (B)
Today is a full day to unlock the magical beauty of Bagan. After breakfast, we will take an exotic horse cart ride to slowly enjoy the beauty of Bagan. Stop at one of the biggest temples in Bagan: Nan Paya Pagoda – an attractive pagoda constructed with the combination of sandstone and brick. From here, continue to Minkaba Gubyaukyi Temple, noted as one of the architectural differences in MyaZedi Pagoda before heading to Manuha Temple – one of the oldest temples in Bagan.
In the late afternoon, enjoy a scenic drive through the chain of ancient stupas and head to the sunset hill. Sit back and marvel at one of the most stunning sunsets in the world. Overnight in Bagan.
Day 5: Bagan – Fly to Heho – Inle Lake (B)
Say goodbye to the enchanting Bagan this morning, we will take a flight to Heho.
Inle Lake is the second largest lake in Myanmar is located 900 meters above sea level and is one of the most productive lakes in the world. It is home to the Intha people who are very famous for their one leg-rowing technique.
On arrival at the airport, we take an hour’s drive to the scenic Inle Lake and then board a motorboat for a sightseeing tour to Phaungdawoo Pagoda, well-known for its richly gilded five small Buddha images making the pagoda to be the holiest pagoda in Inle Lake. Our next stop of this day tour is Ngaphechaung Monastery – the largest wooden monastery on Inle Lake. From there, proceed to Nam Pan Village. We will have a look at cotton and lotus weaving factories and cigar making houses. Enjoy the true experience of traditional Intha life.
Day 6: Inle Lake – Indein (B)
This morning, do not miss the chance to visit the unique “5-Day Market” which is held in different villages surrounding the lake. This is absolutely a stunning place to enjoy the scene of local tribes in their colorful clothes barter for their product and furthermore experience the exotic market atmosphere.
After lunch, follow a boat trip through the narrow canals to reach the beautiful temple of Indein, located on the top of the hill overlooking the lake. Here you will marvel at thousands of magnificent stupas dominate the sky.
Take a poetic walking along the corridors and the giant columns that have been left to nature for centuries.
Day 7: Inle Lake – Heho – Fly to Thandwe – Ngapali Beach (B)
After enjoying your breakfast at the hotel, you will transfer to the airport to catch a flight from Heho to Thandwe. It is time to immerse in the pristine waters of Ngapali Beach and the beautiful green coconut groves after long days of sightseeing. Enjoy your own lovely time to relax and enjoy everything by yourself.
